FACTS ABOUT MRSA

Methicillin-resistant Staphlococcus aureus (MRSA) is a type of bacteria that is resistant to certain antibiotics, including methicillin and other more common antibiotics such as oxacillin, penicillin and amoxicillin.  Although MRSA infection remains most commonly contracted in hospitals or other health care facilites, reports of infections outside health care settings are increasing.  Serious MRSA infections occue in approximately 94,000 persons each year.  The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that standard infection control be utilized to help prevent the pread of MSRA.  This includes proper hand hygiene and environmental surface disinfection. 

A great products that kills MRSA and 27 different microorganisms, including HIV type 1, Staphlococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenand and has a contact time of 30 seconds is Clorox Germicidal Products, such as wipes, germicidal spray, and disinfecting spray.
